BRAZOS
COUNTY BUILDS AWARD-WINNING PACKAGE WITH SYSTEM Z
|
NASHVILLE,
TN, September 12, 2000 - Zortec International
today announced that Brazos County, Texas, has received a Best Practices
Award for a case management system developed in System Z, Zortec's
advanced Rapid Application Development (RAD) environment. Developed
by Multi-Information Systems, Inc. (MISI), the application is used
to administer and manage the county's Justice of the Peace offices
and was honored by The Texas Association of Counties (TAC) Leadership
Foundation.
The statewide Best Practices Award competition honors Texas counties
for innovations in multiple areas including administration of county
programs, ability to provide information which facilitates public
policy making, and promoting intergovernmental cooperation in addressing
shared problems. Brazos County received the award for enhancements
to an information system that streamlines the entire administration
of a Justice of the Peace Court. In addition to automating management
of all civil and criminal cases, the system produces all required
court documents, administers all fee notification and automates
defendant/plaintiff fee notification.
Requirements for MISI's Justice system were specified by County
Auditor John Reynolds and Judges George Boyett and Ray Truelove.
Deployed countywide throughout five Justice of the Peace offices,
the system was co-developed in a working partnership between Tony
Kutiper of the county's Computer & Network Services organization
and Joseph Doucet, a technologist with Multi-Information Systems,
Inc.
"The enhanced case management system has met our highest expectations
and we are extremely honored to be recognized with the TAC Best
Practices Award," says Marijane Deen, Director, Brazos County Computer
& Network Services. "System Z allows us to build applications and
deploy them much faster than other tools …that's why System Z is
the technology platform for all of our in-house information systems."
